Join us for an enlightening conversation with renowned academic and machine translation (MT) expert, Prof. Andy Way. The session will be held on Thursday, 18th May, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the ICT Building, Level 0, Block B, Room 7 (ICT Computing Lab 1).
The focus of this talk is the evolving landscape of machine translation, the efficacy of large language models, and the implications for human translators in light of rapid technological advancements. Prof. Way will bring his unique perspective, gleaned from 35 years of building MT systems, to this topical discussion.
Prof. Way’s distinguished career at Dublin City University (DCU) has been marked by significant contributions to the field of MT, securing over €96.7 million in grants, leading 13 EU projects, and publishing over 400 peer-reviewed papers.
